B&P Holds Successful Data Protection Requirements Seminar



As “the Law on the Protection of Personal Data” (Kişisel Verilerin Korunması Kanunu) (KVKK)” has come into force on 7 April 2016 and the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has come into force on 25 May 2018, in order to better understand these new data protection policies, on 27 September 2018, Bezen & Partners held a KVKK - GDPR Seminar together with its strategic contact Mr. Şahin Soysal, an expert on IT measures for data protection and the owner of S Veri Koruma & Bilgi Güvenliği.



Partner Murat Soylu and Senior Associate Zekican Samlı from Bezen & Partners gave an insight into the “Legal Perspective of Data Protection Requirements”. The focus was on the scope and core principles of KVKK and GDPR, the rights of data subjects and their respective obligations, liability and the administrative responsibilities of data controllers and processors.



The director of S Veri Koruma & Bilgi Güvenliği, Mr. Şahin Soysal, delivered his speech on the “Technical Perspective of Data Protection Requirements” by explaining important concepts of KVKK - GDPR and addressing major challenges of corporates. He further explained the technical measures that should be taken by corporates in order to comply with the requirements of KVKK and GDPR.



The seminar was concluded with a Q&A session.



The seminar took place at the Hyatt Centric Levent Hotel.
